Telugu
Telugu is the official language in Andhra Pradesh state of India.
It is originated from proto-Dravidan language. There is no proof of when this language was originated. However, linguists believe that Telugu was originated between 2000 BC and 1500 BC. Inscriptions containing Telugu words dated back to 400 BC were discovered at Nandyal in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.
Telugu is the only civilized language out of 10 northern group of languages originated from proto-Dravidan language. The script matches very closely with Kannada – another language originated from proto-DravidanĀ in South India. Many words are common in Telugu and other 3 official languages in South India – Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.
